Food Court Flash Mob - Hallelujah Chorus – Awesome

At lunchtime, these unsuspecting shoppers got the thrill of a lifetime.

A flash mob started singing the Hallelujah Chorus just as these surprised sat down in the food court to enjoy their lunch.

This is one of the best flash mob videos we’ve ever come across and the action builds as the video progresses.

Enjoy!

Cameron Diaz talks about working with her ex, Justin Timberlake

It’s not always easy for exes to work together, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake.

The two will be in ‘Bad Teacher’ together and it sounds like things went incredibly smooth, states UsMagazine.com. “Justin and I have always had a good laugh together, and to make a movie where we get to have a laugh together, and there really was no one else who was more perfect for this part,” Diaz said about everything working out.
And apparently there is no need to think anything else might be happening on the set: “[Just] two people who were working together, who just so happened to have gone out with one another at another time in our lives.”
Do you think it’d be hard to work with an ex?

James Cameron Urges Industry to Use Faster Frame Rates

Higher frame rates offer the “potential to improve showmanship,” the director tells attendees at CinemaCon.

LAS VEGAS — Calling the current use of frame rates in digital cinema “inadequate,” James Cameron urged the industry to consider shooting and projecting movies at rates higher than the standard 24 frames-per-second in a demonstration he presented Thursday at Cinemacon.
Cameron contended that that higher frame rates offer the “potential to improve showmanship.”

To prove his point,  he showed a comparison of 3D content produced and projected at 24 frames-per-second, which is commonly used today, as well as at 48 and 60 frames-per-second (fps). He also showed clips that demonstrated other elements such as slow motion at these higher frame rates.

As the clips played, Cameron pointed to some distracting strobing that occurred at 24 fps and pointed to the improvements from the higher frame rates. He that the higher frame rates produce an “enhanced sense of detail” and “enhanced clarity” and told the audience he was going to be “agnostic about whether it be 48 or 60." “That should be discussed,” he said. “We need to make the decision as a group.”

He added, “I’m going to try to be as active as possible - until we figure out what the best answer.”

Cameron revealed that he considered shooting Avatar at 48 fps, but decided the time wasn’t right.  However, he intends to shoot Avatar 2 and 3 at a higher frame rate - the question is whether that  will be at 48 or 60. He is currently writing the script and is at least 18 months away from starting to shoot.

The filmmaker noted that he is not alone in pursuing higher frame rates, saying that George Lucas (with whom he appeared on a CinemaCon panel Wednesday) is “gung-ho,” as is Peter Jackson, who “did testing for The Hobbit.

While adopting higher frame rates would affect both production and exhibition, Cameron said that digital cinematography cameras already accommodate these higher frame rates. In fact, 60 is the current standard in sports production.

In terms of exhibiting digital movies at the higher rate, Cameron said: “The generation two projectors are capable of doing what I show you with a software upgrade."

Cameron enthused at one point: “We are geeking out now, I love this stuff.”

The demo came together fairly quickly. The idea to do the demonstration at CinemaCon was born at the recent DGA Awards, Cameron said.

The CinemaCon presentation took place in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Cameron noted that the projection area looked like a “science project.”  It included stacked Christie DLP Cinema projectors, with Doremi servers and the RealD 3D system.

Cameron thanked a string of collaborators who made the demonstration possible, including Christie, Texas Instruments, Doremi, Real D, Sony, Blackmagic Design, Modern VideoFilm, Reliance Media Works, the production team including Russell Carpenter and John Buckley, as well as the team at Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment.

The clips, which featured a period dinner and fight sequences, were shot in one day by Russell Carpenter, the Academy Award winning director of photography of Titanic. They were lensed with three types of digital cinematography cameras‹the Arri Alexa, Red Epic and Phantom high speed cameras‹all using the 3D rigs from PACE, which were developed by Cameron and 3D innovator Vince Pace.

“I hope this opens the door to testing that needs to be done,” Cameron said, citing areas such as visual effects.  “I’m making the content available to anyone who wants to test it.”

Betty White to Host New Hidden Camera 'Prank' Show for NBC

Move over Ashton Kutcher. Our favorite comedic senior citizen has just signed on to a new comedy reality show gig!

NBC announced Thursday that they have ordered twelve episodes of the new “Betty White Off Their Rockers” show starring, of course, Betty.

The hidden camera prankster reality show will follow seven other senior citizens, led by 89-year-old White, as they play hidden camera pranks on the “unsuspecting youth and younger generation”.

White said,

“People have been telling me that I’m ‘off my rocker’ for years — now I can prove it.”

Betty has had a resurgence of popularity since hosting a Saturday Night Live episode last year, and her hit sitcom “Hot in Cleveland” has just been picked up for its third year on NBC, and she has a book coming out in May.

Boy, this gal really makes me feel old – and lazy.

“Off Their Rockers” is being licensed to the U.S. markets by a Belgian company where the show first originated with huge success.

No air date has been released.

Watch Katy Perry’s New ‘E.T.’ Video with Kanye West – It is Bizarre – Really…

I guess in a world of Lady Gaga the pressure to always release new, wild, and bizarre music videos must be tremendous.

Leave it to Katy Perry to not disappoint.

In her new music video, “E.T” featuring Kanye West, the full bodied singer takes things into the world of space to grab our attention. The scene is set on a dark, distant planet with alien spacecraft and surreal imagery.

Kanye West floats around in an extra-terrestrial “orb” while he wraps about candy bars, and how famous and important he is.

Really? Why is Kanye even in this video?

Perry then floats into the scene in what looks like some costume from the last Harry Potter movie.

I’m not sure what else I can say other than… Katy Perry is turning into Lady Gaga.

Watch it and enjoy?

Judge Judy Rushed to Hospital In Health Scare…

Things got a little scary on the set of Judge Judy Sheindlin’s television show today.

During the taping she apparently started talking in gibberish, alarming those in the room, and said she was not feeling well.

She was taken to the hospital by ambulance and will be staying overnight for observation.

It must not be real serious because Sheindlin called TMZ’s Harvey Levin from her hospital bed with the following update:

"I'm just exhausted, and my body was telling me it needed a day to chill. I was feeling funky this morning ... funky enough that I knew someone should give a gander over what I got. I'm really fine. I wanted to go back to work this afternoon, I'm exhausted. I'm just tired. A lot of things just zoned together, including the bad news of the world. I'm gonna go home tomorrow. It was a bad idea to fly home tonight. At my age, I know my body. My body is fine".

Judge Judy is currently at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where she is undergoing tests.

Get better Judge Judy!

Justin Bieber’s Music Producers Sued Over Song Royalties – Seeking Damages

You know what they say - you’re not successful until somebody tries to sue you. So it goes in the teen heart throb world of Justin Bieber.

The original producers of the 17- year-old's hit single “One Less Lonely Girl” are suing Bieber’s Production company saying they are due royalties from the song, and accuses them of fraud and copyright infringement. Ouch!

Vance Tate and Thomas Oliveria, who represent the songwriting team A-Rex, have filed a lawsuit seeking additional royalty money from the hit single which appeared on Bieber's hit 2008 debut album, “My World”.

In 2008, A-Rex wrote the song, "One Less Lonely Girl," as part of a music project by soul and R&B singer Noel Gourdin. Gourdin’s team passed on the song so A-Rex shopped it around the music biz and it eventually found its way onto Justin Bieber's first album.

The suit alleges that A-Rex are due ten percent of the publishing royalties tied to their share of the song, a dollar amount they say is about $200,000. They are also seeking damages for breach of contract, fraud, conversion and copyright infringement.

Really? Only $200,000? Bieber makes $300,000 per concert and “One Less Lonely Girl” is one of his hit songs on stage.

The suit also names EMI Music Publishing and the L.A. Reid Music Publishing Company.

L.A. Reid, just announced last week that he will be stepping down as Chairman of Island Def Jam Records to become one of the judges on the Fall premier of Simon Cowell's new reality show “X Factor”.

Bieber's management team has not commented on the suit.

My take:

Pay up and move on…..

‘Twin Boys Have a Conversation’ – Video Goes Viral

Everybody seems to be talking about it today.

And I have to admit that after watching it I found myself with a smile on my face.

The YouTube video titled “Twin Boys Have a Conversation” shows two twin toddlers standing in the kitchen trying to have a conversation about a missing sock.

At least that’s what it sounds like… and looks like.

Even though you won’t recognize one word they say, you will know exactly what they are TRYING to say.

It is the cutest video ever!

Donald Trump is a Political Douchebag – You’re Fired!

Every now and then there are people who I wish would just go away. Today, Donald Trump is that person. Why?

The Donald has now thrown his hat, or bad hair, into the ring for the 2012 Presidential campaign.

Really?

Trump running for President? Donald, please don’t ask Gary Busey to be your running mate or Joan Rivers to be your Secretary of State.

First off, the only political experience he has is dealing with other politicians in the New York and New Jersey commercial building, golf course, and casino business. Okay, so he knows how to pay people off and likes golf.

He also knows how to get D-list celebrities to make pizza, sell wedding dresses, and plug product placement deals on his show “Celebrity Apprentice”. But that type of extreme leadership pales in comparison to what it takes to be president.

And last week on “The View” he went on and on about how Barack Obama should just “step up” and produce a copy of his birth certificate. Oh no… another birther. I thought we had settled that a long time ago.

In a masterful attempt to “show how easy it was”, Donald produced for the media what he said was a copy of his own birth certificate. But there was only one problem.

What he actually produced was just an unofficial hospital birthing record – NOT his official birth certificate. That’s kind of embarrassing.

Trump even accused the Governor of Hawaii of a cover-up regarding the issue, and the Governor shot back calling Trump “a fool”.

Of course we all know that Trump could never really get elected, and I hope that deep down Donald himself realizes that – but I’m not so sure.

After all, four years in Washington would put a serious crimp in his television production schedule. He even told reporters that he couldn’t say anything about running until production on “Celebrity Apprentice” was over. Really?

Donald – there are too many real problems in this world for you to be wasting our time with some type of selfless promotion regarding running for president. You know you have zero chance of winning so please step aside and let the real contenders battle this out. In times like this I really miss Keith Olbermann’s “Worst person in the world” segment.

But Donald, since you seem to understand only one thing besides money, I will make this very easy for you to process…

Donald, you’re fired.

Homer Simpson’s Nuclear Power Plant Job in Jeopardy After Japan Disaster – D’oh

In a real world example of life imitating art, Homer Simpson has got himself into a little hot water these days – as in nuclear hot water.

It seems that Germany, Switzerland and Austria are none too thrilled with Homers clumsy and potentially dangerous antics in his day job at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant.

The countries have joined together to review and pull several episodes of “The Simpsons” that show Homer causing problems at work in a nuclear power plant.

The series has a long history of showing “green glowing blobs” as a result of Homer’s inept work ethic.

In fact, the opening sequence shows Homer dropping a glowing piece of radioactive fuel rod, and one episode shows Homer and two of his friends playing “Toxic Barrel Rolling”.

The worst offender is an episode that shows Homer getting shot by Ned Flanders while in the nuclear control room and falling on the “Destroy Core” button causing a nuclear explosion that destroys Springfield.

And what about the episode showing a singing and dancing radioactive Mr. Burns?

Germany says it is screening every episode to make sure there are no bad references to nuclear health and safety shown on the air.

So far two episodes have already been pulled: Episode 66, “Marge Gets a Job”, featuring scientists Marie and Pierre Curie dying of radiation poisoning; and Episode 346, “On a Clear Day I Can't See My Sister”, where jokes about a nuclear meltdown are made.

Executive producer Al Jean says that Homer will be keeping his job at the nuclear plant, and added;

"We have 480 episodes, and if there are a few that they don’t want to air in light of the terrible thing going on in Japan, I completely understand that.”

But where do you draw the line? Maybe countries should screen each episode looking for examples of bullying, irresponsible drinking, adultery, racial intolerance, and other socially unacceptable acts.

And why stop with the Simpsons? What about Jersey Shore, Two and a Half Men, and other wonderful programming?

No, we suggest you see it as it is – comedy, parody, and art. If you make too much of a stink then the government will feel compelled to get involved and then we’re all screwed. All that will be left will be reruns of I Love Lucy and The Lawrence Welk Show.

My take:

At the end of the day I think adults, and most children, know the difference between a real world disaster and a cartoon parody. If you have any doubt, then you should spend less time letting television mold your kids mind - and more time doing it yourself.

Enough said.

Critics Worry about Charlie Sheens Upcoming 'My Violent Torpedo of Truth' Live Shows – Is He Ready?

With just a few days left before Charlie Sheen takes to the stage with his 2011 live show “Violent Torpedo of Truth” in Detroit, critics are starting to wonder what he will unveil to audiences.

While little is known about the content of the shows, Sheen has tweeted a pic of Snoop Dog at his house presumably laying down some music tracks for the show.

The problem, critics say, is that while Sheen has made a big splash with all his “tiger blood” talk and television appearances last month – they have all been done WITHOUT an audience present.

“Standing on a stage for two hours trying to make everybody laugh might be harder than Charlie thinks”, says one critic.

“If a joke bombs, or he says something derogatory about women or working people, the audience could turn on him really fast. He didn’t have to deal with people booing, yelling, or throwing things at him when he was on TV.”

“People are going to go to the show with a certain expectation based on what they have seen from Charlie. If he fails to deliver, it could get really ugly really fast. If the first couple of shows bomb, it will be an uphill battle to complete the series and sell the tickets”.

“He should have done a few smaller gigs to test out his material and see how the crowds react. Not everybody is going to find his jokes funny. Not everybody is going to “get” the show”.

In fact, if you look at the replies to Charlie’s tweets the last several weeks, you can clearly see more people seem to be just egging him on instead of lending him true support.

“There are more people looking for Charlie to fail than to succeed. To many fans of “Two and a Half Men”, he is just another super rich celebrity that has screwed everything up and is airing his dirty laundry in public.”

“Just like people slow down to see the wreck on the interstate, lots of people are going to the show just to see how bad it is and to see the train wreck in person”.

I agree - he should have tried out his material at a few smaller venues and taken a little more time to fine tune his routine. This REALLY does have the possibility to be a really bad train wreck. We will all know by the evening of April 2nd. Unfortunately, it won’t be just a bad April fool’s joke.

And for reports that Sheen’s show tickets are selling out - that turns out not to be true. Sources tell us there are still plenty of tickets. In fact, it looks like people purchased most of the tickets ONLY to try and resell them on other ticket sites for a hefty premium.

If things do go badly, it could spell the end of Charlie and his Adonis DNA.

Willie Nelson Makes Special Deal with Judge In Pot Case – Go Willie!

Remember last November when Willie Nelson was arrested for having pot on his tour bus in Texas?

Well, the prosecutor has agreed to approach the judge with a special plea bargain.

He wants the judge to fine Nelson $100 and allow him to sing “Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain” as a form of community service in lieu of a more severe punishment.

Of course the judge, and Willie, still have to agree with the plan but chances are pretty good they will.

Normally the sentence would include up to three months in jail and a fine of $2,000-$5,000.

Willie – TAKE THE DEAL.

Jackass Star Steve-O Arrested in Canada for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Poor Steve-O. I guess it’s true what they say – once a jackass always a jackass.

Seems Steve, real name Stephen Gilchrist Glover, was arrested while trying to enter Canada yesterday for assault with a deadly weapon. But there is a twist.

The assault happened way back in 2003, eight years ago, when the star was heavily abusing drugs and alcohol and assaulted an unknown person with an unknown deadly weapon while in Canada.

By the time the police investigation was done Steve had already left the country.

Yesterday, while going through customs at Calgary International Airport authorities noticed the 2003 arrest warrant and took him into custody.

No sweat. Steve-O bailed himself out using ten thousand dollars in CASH that he happened to be carrying. Now he has to return in May to face the judge.

What a jackass. Maybe Charlie Sheen can take Steve-O on the road as his winning warlock tiger blood warm up act. It seems the two would get along just fine.

This is true - Steve graduated from Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1997 but was never accepted for any clown gigs so he returned home and started doing Jackass type videos and sending them to skateboard companies trying to get work.

Somehow he ended up on television. How did that all work out?

As of today, Steve has no television, movie, commercial, radio, or book projects scheduled and appears to be, well… an unemployed clown.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Look Like Death at New York Opera Premier

Twenty four year old mega wealthy posers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen showed up in New York last night for the premier of the opera Le Comte Ory.

Really? Sunglasses?

These two young celebs look like they have been dragged through life kicking and screaming. Seriously, don’t they both look like they are in their 40’s… 50’s ?

I don’t think I have ever, and I mean ever, seen either one of them smile at a camera. Do they look like they are having fun?

With an event that drew celebs like Claire Danes, Olivia Munn, and Emmy Rossum wouldn’t you think their handlers would have suggested they smile and loose the shades?

What fun is it to be a billionaire if you’re never going to be happy?

We’re just saying…

American Idol Casey Abrams Saved – Results Shock Viewers - Video

Last night was one of the most bizarre American Idol results shows I have ever seen. In fact, it was so strange that it almost made me think it was actually all scripted.

Casey Abrams, the hard rocking grunge singer was voted off over 22 year old Stefano Langone.

But as he began to sing his swan song, the Randy Jackson stopped him after only a few bars and told the audience the judges had an announcement.

Within the 10 seconds that Abrams had been singing for his life, Steven Tyler announced they had decided to use their once in a season “save” to keep Abrams in the competition.

The resulting video seems all just a little too scripted for my taste, but it did make for some great television.

Casey’s first reaction was to go into a fit that almost looked like he was either having a heart attack or was getting ready to throw up. In fact, when I first watched it I thought for sure they were going to have to cut away so he could puke.

The video below shows it all and speaks for itself.

He then walked down to the judges table and extended his hand to Jennifer Lopez and it was shaking so bad I thought they were going to have to call 911.

Was it real? Is Casey Abrams health really that fragile?

Well, last week he was rushed to the hospital with severe abdominal pains and was almost eliminated from the competition. At the last minute he was released and able to make that nights show.

Hmmm, all seems just a little too dramatic.

Anyway, Abrams was saved and Ryan Seacrest announced that because of the save there would be eleven singers on this summer’s American Idol Summer Tour – including Abrams.

But he also announced that two contestants will go home next week. My guess is will be country crooner Scotty McCreery and African dancer Naima Adedapo.

I also think America is going to quickly tire of Rod Stewart’s younger clone Paul McDonald.

I will say that this year’s show is a vast improvement over last season and I don’t miss Simon Cowell at all.

Rebecca Black Does The Jay Leno Show… and, Sings?

The infamous singer of what some have called the worst song ever visited with Jay Leno last night.

13-year-old YouTube sensation Rebecca Black has been widely panned for her song “Friday”, and says she has received tons of hate mail and death threats since her video went viral on the internet last week.

She explained to Leno how the whole thing came about, and how she turned down the first song presented to her.

Although Black sang “Friday”, the backing track was so loud that you could not really tell if Black was singing or lip syncing. But the bottom line is the same:

“Friday", sung by Rebecca Black is the worst song ever.

As for her next move -- Rebecca says she desperately wants to sing a duet with Justin Bieber.

Good luck with that…
