Zidan is still recovering from a groin operation, and can only absolve light work-outs. But it hasn't dampened his enthuastic approach to being with Hamburger SV.

Estate of Anna Nichole Smith loses $300 mn court fight

The estate of Anna Nichole Smith is not entitled to the $300 million that the late reality TV star was claiming from the heir of her oil-tycoon ex-husband, a federal

appeals court in San Francisco ruled Friday.

The ruling follows a 10-year battle between the late Smith and the son of J. Howard Marshall, who was 89 when he married the 26-year-old model in 1994 a few years after they met at a strip club.

Smith had claimed that Marshall had promised her $300 million, and that his son, E. Pierce Marshall, used 'fraud and undue influence' to have her removed from the will.

Friday's ruling confirmed an earlier ruling by a Texas jury that the money was not meant as a gift for Smith.

Smith died in 2007 from a prescription drug overdose. She is survived by her three-year-old daughter.

Toni Collette loves complex roles

Australian actress Toni Collette is glad her acting career is not based on her normal looks because she prefers to play 'rich and complex' roles.

The 37-year-old who has played quirky roles such as Sheryl Hoover in 'Little Miss Sunshine' and Muriel Heslop in 'Muriel's Wedding' prefers meatier roles based on her ability as an actress rather than vapid roles which are given to beautiful female stars, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

'My career has never been based on how I look, and I don't want it to be. I like my work, like my life, to be much deeper than that - that's something I've managed to escape. I think it's a dangerous pressure,' she said.

'I would rather play somebody complex and rich and real than some feckless handbag,' she added.

Melbourne to play leading role in Bollywood epic

Leading Indian actors from the film industries in Mumbai and South India, Geneila De Souza and Ram Cherain Teja are in Melbourne for the filming of the feature flick Orange - the biggest Indian film ever to be set in Australia.

The Member for Melbourne, Bronwyn Pike, spent the morning on the set of Orange - in Southbank - and said the movie is expected to be seen by hundreds of millions of people when it is released across the world next year.

"Orange is the biggest and longest film shoot of a Bollywood film in Australia and will employ more than 250 Victorians as cast and crew during filming," Ms Pike said.

"The feedback from the film's stars and producer Anupam Sharma is that Melbourne's thriving Indian community is buzzing with excitement that two of Bollywood's biggest stars are in our city to film Orange.

"Orange will be filmed at a number of Melbourne locations, including ACDC and Hosier lanes, Southbank, the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, the West Gate Bridge and Docklands.

"The Brumby Labor Government is proud that our wonderful city is playing a leading role in this blockbuster Bollywood film."

Mr Sharma said the Melbourne community was welcoming and film-friendly.

"It is a delight to film the movie in Melbourne because the local community has a genuine interest in film-making," he said.

"The community has given the cast and crew a warm welcome and we're looking forward to filming in Melbourne over the next few months.

"Orange will tell the story of a young Indian student who has settled in Melbourne and falls in love - and the twists and turns that accompany relationships.

"We are setting the film against the backdrop of Melbourne and we're using a mix of local and international cast and crew to make the movie.

"Orange is scheduled to screen around the world in 2011 and will be seen by hundreds of millions of movie-goers."

Minister for Innovation Gavin Jennings said the Brumby Government has helped the screen sector back on its feet.

"When the Brumby Labor Government was elected, the screen sector was neglected, with little leadership from government and many productions heading to other states," he said.

"Since then, the sector has got back on its feet and last year generated production activity of $172 million, directly creating 5164 full-time equivalent jobs.

"The past two years have seen record levels of economic activity generated by the Victorian industry."

Orange will join a number of highly successfully Bollywood films shot in Victoria, including Salaam Namaste - the second highest grossing Bollywood film of 2005 - seen by an estimated audience of 300 million.

India's "One Crazy Ride" makes it to Wisconsin Film Fest

"One Crazy Ride" documentary of India has made it to the Wisconsin Film Festival, said to be the largest campus-based festival in USA, to be held April 14 to 18 in state capital Madison.

In its 12th year, the Festival, organized by University of Wisconsin-Madison, presents a broad range of independent American and world cinema (narrative, documentary, experimental, shorts), restorations and revivals, and locally made pictures. Meg Hamel is the festival director while Allen Ebert is operations director.

Directed by Gaurav Jani, 87 minutes long "One Crazy Ride" in Hindi is a motorcycle expedition on uncharted roads on Himalayas in Arunachal Pradesh state of India. It is stated to be a film about camaraderie, friendship and "never say die" attitude of five motorcyclists in unforgiving terrain and it attempts to capture the experiences and interactions of riders trying to chart a route. Produced by Dirt Track Productions, its music is provided by Ved Nair while Kishore Jadhav is the editor.

Congratulating makers of "One Crazy Ride", Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed has urged India's Government and various film bodies to promote independent cinema and help arrange funding for various such ventures. India had the talent, and with proper push, it could develop more Satyajit Rays, Zed, who is chairperson of Indo-American Leadership Confederation, added.

Alice in Wonderland is almost famous

The teenage Alice may have wooed the West but on Indian shores, her magic doesn't seem to be working. Or so, our film trade analysts would like us to believe.

After James Cameron's Avatar, expectations were high for Tim Burton's adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic. "Even Johnny Depp couldn't reel in his young fans who are too busy studying to go to the theatres," says Amod Mehra, a trade analyst, adding that the teenaged Alice in this version is also getting disapproving frowns from purists.

Amitabh Vardan, of PVR, however, insists that the opening was decent and the 3D shows were completely sold out. "The film should sustain till April 15," he asserts.

Utpal Acharya, of Inox, endorses the same fact, saying that despite competition from Bollywood films like Right Yaa Wrong, Alice In Wonderland has grossed over 50 per cent in its first weekend, with the 3D version faring even better, even though it is nowhere close to Avatar. Acharya points out that in India, animation films are meant only for kids and they do not bring in a mass audience.

"When Cars released, my wife took our child for the movie, but I gave it a miss because we didn't want to waste Rs 200," he points out.

Jesse James' mistress supports 'white power,' gives Nazi salute

Michelle "Bombshell" McGee, the woman who carried on an 11-month affair with Sandra Bullock's husband Jesse James, supports 'white power,' gives the Nazi salute and does pornographic shoots in her home, it has been claimed.

James has apologized to Bullock after his extra-martial affair became public, reports The Daily Telegraph.

And now, as per court papers connected to Michelle's divorce from and custody battle with Ronald Shane Modica, the model is portrayed as being bi-polar and using drugs, reports RadarOnline.com

In a declaration filed January 27 of this year, Modica says of his ex-wife: "It seems as the years go by Avery's mother slips more and more into stripping, pills, alcohol and performances she does online, pornography that she has brought into her home.

"There have been pornographic shoots there and live web cam pornographic broadcasts from her house."

Modica also revealed that Michelle uses their son's name, Avery, when she performs as her stripper.

Modical also charges about his ex wife: "There are coffins in the living room and child block magnets on the refrigerator that spell out White Power ... her other son Elijah is Jewish and she thinks it's funny that she makes the Nazi salute."

'Negligent' NHS blamed for Jade Goody's death

Jade Goody's doctor has blamed "incompetent and negligent" staff at UK's National Health Services (NHS) for the reality TV star's death.

Ann Coxon, Harley Street consultant and former NHS doctor, blasted medics who, she said, failed to notice the Big Brother celebrity's tumour, even when it was the "size of a tangerine", which led to the 27-year-old's death from cervical cancer on Mother's Day last year.

"Her symptoms - which included heavy and irregular bleeding, pain and abnormal smear tests - can all indicate cancer. There should have been alarm bells ringing," The Sun quoted Dr Coxon as saying.

"But Jade didn't know that. She'd had abnormal smear tests since she was 16 so by the time she was 27 it didn't worry her much, because she didn't really know what it meant. It had never been properly explained to her.

"After she was diagnosed, she said to me, in that typically Jade way, 'I'm not daft. If I'd known it was to do with cancer, I'd have been checked out every three months'. Jade realised she had been let down. She simply said, 'Sometimes people make mistakes'.

"Jade's death was completely unnecessary and preventable. She died of neglect and of incompetence," Dr Coxon added.

Dr Coxon also said: "Jade's story must never be forgotten. She need not have died if the medical profession had got their act together in time."(ANI)
